Itinerary
Between 6:00 to 6:20 AM, we start the pick-up at Plaza Regocijo. The journey will take us through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we can admire various villages and landscape changes from the Andes mountains to tropical areas. We will reach Hidroeléctrica, where we will enjoy lunch before embarking on the approximately 2 and a half hour hike to the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes).
Once in the town of Machu Picchu, we will settle into accommodation with private bathrooms and hot water. In the evening, we will enjoy dinner, and our guide will provide instructions for visiting the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu the next day. It's also possible to visit the hot springs, located just 10 minutes from the town, after our arrival.
At 4:00 AM, we rise to begin our hike towards the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu; if you've purchased the bus ticket for either ascent or descent, you'll ascend around 6:00 AM. The hike takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Once there, we'll enjoy a guided tour lasting 2.5 hours, during which our guide will lead us through the main points of interest into Machu Picchu.
Around 11:00 am, after visiting Machu Picchu, we'll begin the hike back to Hidroeléctrica, following the same route we took on the first day. Our transportation will be waiting for us at Hidroeléctrica for the return journey to the city of Cusco. It's recommended to take all belongings from the accommodation, as we won't pass through the town of Machu Picchu on the way back. We expect to arrive in Cusco around 9:30 PM.
